At the 36th Regular Meeting, in December 2006, the Executive Board approved a grant of US$ 1.5 million to MBFM.
Project Description:The goal of KSMS’s Master’s Degree in Banking and Finance was to improve the financial management and accountability of African countries in general and those of Kenya, Eastern and Southern African countries in particular in the area of banking, finance and micro-finance. Its expected results were:
- Improvement of the performance of financial and banking organizations and institutions as well as their public supervisory agencies.
- Financial managers and bankers, especially from microfinance institutions, to be trained to make major contribution to the improvement of the sector
- KSMS to become a truly African Center of Excellence in training corporate finance and bank managers capable of helping Africa meet the challenges stemming from globalization.
